FAQs about anxiety and insomnia therapy in Murrieta, CA
Below are some questions that you might have before beginning therapy:
+ Do you provide online counseling?
Yes! I utilize a HIPAA compliant, secure platform for online counseling. As long as you are in California, I can provide the same quality of service from the comfort of your home, your office or wherever you are.
+ How do I Know if I need counseling or therapy?
If you feel like you’re stuck, anxiety has a hold on you, you’ve tried everything you can possibly think of, but nothing seems to be helping, then it might be time to reach out to a therapist and see if I can help you get unstuck.
+ How Long is a therapy session?
The very first therapy session is 75 minutes. It’s important that I get to really know you so that we can both come up with clear goals and a clear plan of action to get you the results you want. After that initial session, subsequent sessions are 50 minutes (60 minutes for couples).
+ How long do I have to be in therapy?
Because I do not provide one size fits all therapy or counseling, it really all depends on how fast you move towards meeting your goals. We typically stop therapy once you start to feel better. If you are coming to me specifically for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, then we will work together for 5 to 7 sessions.
+ Will my insurance pay for therapy?
Currently I am only in network with IEHP, however I can work with clients who have PPO plans. If you have a HMO plan you won’t get reimbursed for working with me. If you have a PPO plan, call your insurance company and ask if you have any mental health benefits and if they will be willing to reimburse you for out of network services.
+ How much does therapy cost?
For the very first session, I do a 75-minute assessment so I can dive in, get to really know you and create goals for the rest of our sessions. This is really important so that we are clear on what we are trying to achieve. The cost for that session is $220 (if you have a PPO insurance plan, you might be able to get a percentage of your therapy sessions reimbursed).
For subsequent sessions, I do a 50-minute therapy session and the cost is $150.
+ Do you have a sliding scale?
I understand that financial needs vary, but unfortunately, I do not have sliding scale fees available at this time. All my clients are treated the same and pay the same fee. If you’d like, I’d be happy to refer you to a community mental health agency or an agency that provides income-based services. You may also take a look on https://openpathcollective.org to see if they can meet your needs. Please note I am not an affiliate of Open Path.
+ How do I schedule a therapy appointment with you?
I ask that every new client schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation with me so that we can both decide if we are a great fit (Click to request your free 15-min consultation call). It’s important to me that I only take on clients whom I am confident that I can help. Therapy is an important commitment and I always want to be respectful to your needs. If we both mutually decide that we are not a great fit, I will refer you out to other mental health professionals whom I trust.
+ DO you have evening and weekend appointments?
Unfortnately I do not. My office hours are weekdays from 930am till 430pm. If you really need evenings or weekends, I’d be happy to refer you to a colleague who can accommodate you.
+ IS THERAPY CONFIDENTIAL?
In the state of California, therapy is confidential. However there are some situations in which I have to make a report: Child abuse. Dependent adult abuse. Elder abuse. If you are a danger to yourself or others.
